DG's in Dallas!

This Labor Day weekend was LSU's first football game! They started off the season playing in the Cowboy Classic against the TCU Horned Frogs. Although Dallas is a good 7 hour drive, this did not stop LSU fans, or the ladies of Delta Gamma, from traveling the distance! While we were all there to support our Tigers in their first game this season, it was also a great opportunity for sisterhood bonding! Sophomore Kaitlin Sepulveda, whose house is located 15 minutes from the stadium opened her house up and had around 20 sisters staying with her. "Having girls stay at my house was possibly the best college experience I've had so far! All the girls were so respectful and fit right into my home, and we all got a closer which I didn't even know was possible! Plus, my family didn't want them to leave!" says Sepulveda on having the girls over. Below is a picture of all the ladies who stayed with her.

The tailgating was no joke either! LSU fans were just as prevalent at Cowboy Stadium as they are right at home! Purple and Gold tents were set up all across the parking lots, easily out numbering the horned frogs. Geena Marano, a sophomore DG who traveled to the game was amazed with the fan base in Dallas. "It's crazy to see how dedicated LSU fans are, picking up and showing support wherever it's needed, even if it's 500 miles away! In a stadium as large as Cowboy Stadium you can still easily spot the sea of purple and gold." said Marano. Below is Marano and friends throwing up the Gamma outside the stadium before the game started.

The game, although closer than many LSU fans felt it should've been, was a great match up! With the Tigers giving us all a worry being just a few points ahead of TCU the entire game, came out on top with a 37-27 win over the frogs. "It felt so good to get back into the football spirit, singing all our cheers and rooting the Tigers to a victory." said Sophomore DG Victoria Waguespack. Below, a picture of Waguespack and Scarlett Myers, also a Sophomore DG, in Cowboy Stadium.

Overall, the ladies of Gamma Zeta who traveled to the game had an amazing time bonding with their sisters and seeing the LSU tigers start off the season right! "After this weekend I cannot wait for the rest of the season!" said Marano, "football season is truly the best time to be a Tiger!".
